TWAITES & JONES FAIR DEAL SYSTEM:
OUR CLIENTS BENEFIT FROM OUR SIMPLE BUSINESS MODEL:
LOW OVERHEADS = HIGHER PROFIT
First and foremost, it is vital to ascertain the true value of a wine. With 25 million lines of current and historical data, Liv-ex (London International Vintners Exchange) offers the most transparent, accurate and comprehensive data available anywhere in the market place.
Primary Market (Trade) – Where the true value of a wine is identified
Secondary Market (Market Price) – Where Merchants/traders dictate sale price.
According to Liv-ex, “The Market Price is a guide to what you should expect to pay when buying wine in the market. When selling wine through a merchant, you will need to deduct their margin (typically 10-20%) from the Market Price in order to calculate your approximate net proceeds from any sale”. It is however widely accepted that the majority of reputable wine companies will (in general) offer 15-25% less than they are currently selling the same wine for. Through your own research and due diligence it will be become clear that companies who choose to be transparent work on these margins – in order to cover their over-heads and costs.
Twaites and Jones have a maximum selling spread/margin of 5% – this is one of the lowest margins you will find. This philosophy enables our clients to enter and exit the market with maximum profit. Our aim is simple: to bridge the gap between the primary and secondary markets – bringing it closer to you the investor.
