FREE WINE VALUATION SERVICE
Even if you are not currently a client of Twaites & Jones, we offer an excellent ‘no obligation’ Wine Valuation service for those wishing to sell their wines or simply wanting a clear net figure for the value of their holding.
PROVENANCE IS THE KEY TO MAINTAINING AND UP-HOLDING THE VALUE OF YOUR WINE. There are also many other factors that affect the value of your fine wine and this is vital to bear in mind, not only when you are buying – but also selling!
KEY CRITERIA THAT AFFECT WINE VALUE
- CONDITION of the case, bottle, cork, labels, levels
- STORAGE HISTORY including transport (export etc)
- DUTY PAID/INBOND
REMEMBER! A high value wine must be stored in the correct environment, otherwise the selling price will be affected. Humidity and temperature play a vital role in maintaining optimum conditions. It is also essential to ensure that the wine is moved as little as possible.
Our valuation service is simple – as licensed members we use the Liv-ex (London International Vintners Exchange) for all our valuation purposes. The Liv-ex is the industry benchmark for valuations and is used throughout the wine trade. We believe it to be the perfect tool for ensuring that we are able to offer our clients a fully transparent service.
SO THAT WE CAN OFFER THE MOST ACCURATE WINE VALUATION WE NEED TO KNOW:
- Chateau name, vintage, bottle size and quantity
- Where — and for how long — the wine is stored
- Condition reports if available (including photographs)
Upon receipt of your request, we will reply with a current valuation as well as a simple summary of the wines held.
